LED driver recommendation guide
Why is it so important to choose the right LED driver?
The LED driver is the "heart" of the system. Choosing the right driver not only affects the brightness performance, but also determines the life, efficiency and electrical safety of LED products. Especially for high-power LEDs (≥1W), the stability and matching of the power supply are extremely high.
Selection core parameters:
Constant current is preferred
It is recommended to use constant current drive for high-power LEDs to avoid light decay and burnout caused by current drift.
Voltage matching:
Calculate the total voltage of LED series (total VF)
Driver output voltage must cover this range
Recommended voltage margin ≥10%
Current matching:
Drive current should be close to the nominal value of LED, but must not exceed the maximum rated value
Allowable error range: ±5%
Power redundancy design:
Driver rated power ≥ actual power × 1.2
Effectively prevent full load operation from causing heat or reduced life
Dimming control:
Support PWM, 0-10V, Triac or DMX control, suitable for multiple scenes
Multi-channel RGB/RGBW recommends independent constant current multi-channel drive
Avoid common misunderstandings:
It is not recommended to use constant voltage drive directly to bare LED chips
Using multiple LEDs in parallel will result in uneven current
Ignoring temperature protection will cause overheating and burn the device
