Definition of conflict minerals
Specially refers to 3TG metals (tin Sn, tantalum Ta, tungsten W, gold Au) and cobalt Co produced in armed conflict areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its nine neighboring countries (Rwanda, Uganda, etc.), whose trade proceeds may fund armed groups and cause human rights issues.
LED industry applications
Tantalum: used for high-capacity capacitors (such as LED driver power supplies)
Tin: circuit board welding material
Tungsten: heat dissipation substrate coating
Gold: chip bonding wires and high-reliability contacts
II. Compliance requirements
Regulation name Effective time Core requirements
US Dodd-Frank Act 2010 US-listed companies must disclose the source of 3TG and submit SEC reports
EU Conflict Minerals Regulation 2021 EU importers are required to implement OECD due diligence and trace smelter information
China Due Diligence Guide 2015 Encourage companies to establish a supply chain traceability system
III. Core terms of corporate declaration
Prohibition of procurement
Explicitly reject 3TG metals controlled by conflict mining areas and armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and require suppliers to sign.

Implement three-tier supplier traceability: require second-tier suppliers to pass on the conflict minerals policy to the raw materials end
Annual third-party audit
IV. Violation handling
If illegal procurement is found, the company has the right to: terminate cooperation and trace compensation
V. Technical solutions
