LED spectrum design for greenhouse plant growth
LED is increasingly used in plant lighting, especially in greenhouses, plant factories, hydroponic cultivation and other fields.
Spectrum design is crucial to make plants grow faster and produce higher yields.
Why is the spectrum so important?
Plants mainly absorb light energy through photosynthesis, and different wavelengths in the spectrum have different effects on plants:
Red light (620-660nm): promotes flowering and fruit growth, and is the main band for plant growth.
Blue light (440-470nm): helps photosynthesis and promotes stem and leaf development.
Green light (500-550nm): has strong penetration and helps the lower leaves receive light.
Far red light (730nm): controls the "sleep rhythm" of plants, which is particularly important for regulating the flowering period.
White light: simulates natural light, suitable for complex scenes such as mixed planting of multiple plants and visual lighting.
How to choose the spectrum of LED plant lights?
Seedling stage: more blue light, control height, lush leaves
Growth/nutrition stage: red-blue ratio 1:1, conducive to lush leaves and strong roots
Flowering/fruiting stage: increase red light and far-red light to increase yield
Full-cycle planting: choose full-spectrum white light LED + red-blue enhancement
